El festival de luces Yi Peng es un evento típico de Tailandia que tiene por objetivo venerar la luz Buda. Grupos de familias o amigos se reúnen alrededor de una linterna encendida y realizan una ceremonia en la que se piden deseos y se ora para hacer méritos al dios. Luego, la linterna es liberada perdiéndose entre las miles de luces que surcan el cielo esa noche.

The Yi Peng festival of lights is a typical event in Thailand that aims to venerate the Buddha light. Groups of families or friends gather around a lit lantern and perform a ceremony in which wishes and prayers are made to make merits to Buddha. Then, the lantern is released, losing itself among the thousands of lights that cross the sky that night.
